Mae Hong Son is situated close to the Burmese border, some 274 kilometres from Chiang Mai.
A rented vehicle or bus will give you and unprecedented opportunity to see the magnificent mountain districts of the North, but 1,284 curves of winding roads enforces you to take an alternative of flying with a Thai Airways flight will get you there
about 30 minutes at very reasonable cost.
A 'must' for the visitor is a visit to the hillside temple of Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu which give a wonderful view of the town and surrounding countryside. The temple was built by Phaya Singhanatracha, the first king of Mae Hong Son.


It is the home to many of the hill-tribe peoples of Thailand; the most famous
of which are long-necked women of the Karen (Pa Dong) tribe. Even today, these people still attach brass rings to the some of the women to give the apperance of them having extended necks. Apart from Thai people there are Thai Yai and the Shan, who are related to the Burmese tribes. In the surrounding areas are a number of hot springs and mountain caves, many abundant with fish.

Being high in the mountains, there are a number of stunningly beautiful waterfalls to visit as well as numerous mountain caves. This location has spawned the title "The City of Three Mists". the morning markets are especially interesting where you can buy, apart from the usual household items and foodstuffs, an array of insect food such as crickets, worms, and ant eggs.
DAY 1
Welcome to the Land Of Three Mist., have a morning flight to Mae Hong Son (half an hour flight), start to explore the beauty of unspoilt nature by climbing up Doi Kong Moo Temple where we enjoy a view of valleys and mountains, visit an impressive twin Burmese temples, stop and rest for lunch, then continue to the fish cave, the peaceful dwelling place of hundreds of fishes, then back to the hotel to stay overnight. DAY 2
Breath fresh air and walk in the mist to the morning market where the ethnic people struggle lives selling their hand-made products,


it is worth seeing and participating the morning activity, then drive straight to the main port for aboat ride to The Long Neck Padong Village, nowhere else in the world that you can see the unbelievable marvel, then back to town by
boat and have lunch, then fly back to Chiang Mai in the afternoon.
