Patara Elephant Farm invites you to hands-on experience on participating , sharing, responsibility and taking good care of the elephants." Elephant Owner For A Day " is a special program created for everyone to learn and interact with elephants as what an owner would do daily during time you are being trained to approach and getting acquainted your elephants correctly, understand their temperament, feed and check its health, learn to take good care, bathe and brush. Learn how to ride bareback and communicate with them through different spoken commands / dialects.

TOUR PHOTO GALLERY

7.30a.m. Start to pick up from hotel / guesthouse, 30 minutes drive southward to valleys in Hang Dong.Arrive at Patara Farm and get change to mahout outfit.
8.30a.m. Training course : learn how to hike and track in order to find elephants in the bush, introducing to every member elephants in the farm, trick to get acquainted with the elephant in short time, observe their temperament, their daily meals, health care, pregnancy test and care taking from mother to a newborn baby, elephant skin care. As well as bathe with them in the river and brush their skin, how to get on and off their neck with different techniques, basic riding skill and spoken commands.
10.00a.m. Ride elephant bareback in the farm and a short ride to temple, learn about the belief of Thais relate to these sacred elephants.
11.00a.m. More skill to carry your own riding uphill to visit the waterfall for a picnic lunch. Enjoy the jungle meal among the greenery and bathe with your own elephant.
2.00p.m. Elephant riding homeward bound and feed them food as a reward.
3.00p.m. Relax and take more photos with our elephants.
4.00p.m. Transfer to city and drop you at hotel / guesthouse.
TRAINING COURSE COST :
5,800 Baht per person.
INCLUDED : transportation from hotel - farm - hotel, 1 picnic lunch, 1 CD. of your training photos and training equipment outfit.
Your own preparation : long loose pants,T - Shirt, extra clothes for change, sandal shoes, sunblock lotion, insect repellant, the camera and your belongings. |

Baanchang Elephant Park - the location of the park was chosen to provide a natural habitat.
Training program is held at the beautiful mountain range in Mae Tang, about an hour drive north of Chiang Mai city . Baanchang Elephant Park is dedicated to providing elephants with the highest quality of life, we encourage visitors to see the complexities of caring the elephants and to learn the right ways of treatment. Learn the elephant 's behavior, their temperament, their daily food, how to approach and make friend with the elephants, health care and concern. As well as spend the great time in the river bathing with the elephant and brush their skin, learn the spoken commands to get on and off the elephants and tell them what to do by yourself, ride elephant bareback with your own trained skill.Our program is conducted in English by the owner and our professional elephant trainers. |

8.15 - 8.30a.m. start to pick up from hotel / guesthouse, drive north to suburb of Mae Tang and make a stop at local market to buy fresh fruit for your elephants, then drive to Baanchang Elephant Park.
- change clothes to be the mahout dress.
- give introduction of Thai elephant, their lifestyle and behavior.
- feed them with bananas & sugarcane.
- learn the basic commands and different techniques to ride elephant bareback through the jungle by yourself.
12.00hrs. have lunch at our park.
13.30hrs. Ride the elephant bareback through the jungle.
15.30hrs. bathe with your elephant in the river and clean their skin by brushing.
Don't forget to clean yourself and dress your prepared clothes.
16.00hrs. Time to say good bye !

10.00a.m. more practices on skill to command elephants with different techniques and take your elephant into the jungle and learn how they live by their own.
12.30hrs. Back to the park for lunch.
13.30hrs. Ride elephant bareback on your own purpose.
15.00hrs. bathe with your elephant and brush. Also clean yourself and change dress.
15.30hrs. Time to say good bye.
